About Me

I’m a writer and blogger based in Toronto. As an undergraduate I was Editor-in-Chief of Canada’s largest student newspaper and have sincce worked as a political staffer at Queen’s Park and for a federal Member of Parliament. From 2012-2013 I was a Masters student at the University of Toronto, where I studied ancient and modern political theory and the political economy of industrial societies. I was a candidate for the Ontario New Democratic Party in the 2014 provincial election.

I write about Canadian and international politics, religion, labour issues, philosophy, and the history of the democratic left. My writing has appeared in Jacobin Magazine, Canadaland, Maisonneuve, The Tyee, and Now Magazine, Current Affairs, and on CBC Radio. I also co-host a semi-weekly podcast about agitprop cinema.

Between 9-5 you’ll find me at the Broadbent Institute.
